Reborn U is Reborn Clothing Co.’s collegiate division, supplying our customers with upcycled collegiate and sports items and apparel. We strive to design products that students are proud to wear — both in support of their school and in support of Reborn’s mission. As of January 2021, we are excited to announce a new partnership with Recover Brands. By teaming up with Recover, Reborn U can quickly provide your campus with trendy upcycled gear, spreading school spirit while promoting sustainability.
About Recover Brands
Recover Brands was founded by Bill Johnston — an NC State alum “obsessed with sustainability” and the outdoors. His passion pushed him to create Recover, a company creating sustainable apparel. Bill’s goals were to reduce pollution in water sources and playgrounds, plastic waste, and energy lost in manufacturing.
Our founder, Emily Neville, started Reborn nearly nine years later. A fellow NC State grad, she wanted to make upcycled products available and desirable to the public, specifically in the collegiate market.
In 2020, Bill and Emily started to work together, strengthening their missions by teaming up. Bill says that like Reborn, Recover Brands wholeheartedly believes in making responsible, low-impact products out of materials that would have otherwise ended up in the landfill. Our shared ethos makes working together with a natural fit, and we’re proud to partner with RebornU on its new line of 100% recycled, made in USA apparel.
Emily believes that “our launch of a private label apparel line with Recover Brands not only makes sense for our consumers but for the environment. It’s been gratifying working with Bill and the rest of the team at Recover Brands, and I’m excited to see this long-term partnership flourish for years to come.” She even adds that she “now [wears] these tees every day!”

Reborn U merchandise is the ultimate sustainable fan collection. From tees to hats, this fan gear is current, comfortable, and eco-friendly. Reborn U accepts orders from an initial three tee designs — classic, long sleeve classic, and sports — as well as hats but can work on colors and designs outside of the standard catalog. Ordering now means your campus will receive merchandise for late spring, summer, and fall releases.
This friendship and sustainability story illustrates the importance of collaboration and community building on our mission of reducing waste.
