Chapter Three: Putting Memory to Product

Hey guys!

This week I had the opportunity to meet with a special client of Reborn, Peyton. Peyton is a junior majoring in Fashion and Textile Management at NC State College of Textiles. Peyton brought us some fabric to make her an iPad sleeve.

Q: How did you hear about Reborn?

A: I heard about Reborn through Kate, who works for Reborn, she’s my best friend.

Kate is a product development contractor for Reborn, and is one of our highly valued team members!

Q: What product did you order from us?

A: I ordered a custom product from Reborn, I don’t think it is on the website. I saw a laptop sleeve that Kate was working on for Reborn and I thought it was really cool. I decided I wanted one for for my iPad with elastic loops for my pen.

Q: Tell me about the fabric you had your iPad sleeve made out of!

A: [This] one is Oscar de la Renta from Mood in New York, which I ordered online for my collection. The other one is a Kona blue from Joann Fabric. These are fabrics I am using in my collection for the AATS show coming up.

Q: Can you tell me more about your collection? How your product is connected to it?

A: The name of the collection I am presenting is Urban Oasis and it is an elevated streetwear collection that airs on the modest side. I really liked this Oscar de la Renta fabric but I didn’t have enough to make something for myself so having it in this laptop sleeve means a lot to me because it I have a piece of it with me to always remind me of my collection.

Q: What does sustainable fashion mean to you?

A: I think it is an interesting practice that most people don’t really care about but it is on the rise and it is really cool to see textiles being recycled and reused so they can be turned into a new product.

Peyton now has a meaningful memento from her first time presenting an entire collection at a fashion show. Here at Reborn, we want to help you preserve the memories that are important to you and we want to make it as simple as possible! Let us transform your meaningful garments into something you can use every day. After you order, we’ll follow up with you so you can drop off your loved clothes at Loading Dock Raleigh or mail them to us in a package we’ll send you for free.

You can see Peyton present her first collection, Urban Oasis, which inspired her custom Reborn product on Thursday, April 12th, 2018, in the AATS 2018 Annual Fashion Exposé, a fashion design competition at NC State. Good luck Peyton!
